Monika is a social worker and psychotherapist registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She supports teens and adults experiencing various challenging life experiences, including anxiety, depression, stress, and misophonia, through a holistic lens. As a queer person, she is especially passionate about supporting individuals of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and continues to learn about intersectional identities beyond her own so that clients can feel seen and understood.

Using a client-centered, trauma-informed, and non-pathologizing approach, Monika believes that each person is the expert of their own life and understands how trauma and the environments we live in can affect our thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science in Population Medicine from the University of Guelph, she understands the interconnected nature of health and wellness through mind, body, and spirit. She completed a Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. â€‹

Monika uses an eclectic approach to meet each client’s unique needs, informed by various psychotherapeutic modalities, including dialectical behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, solutions-focused therapy, and polyvagal theory. Overall, she aims to help clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to tune into their own wisdom, reach their goals, and create a life worth living.   Monika offers daytime and evening sessions to help work with your schedule. Outside of the office, Monika loves playing video games, reading fantasy, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, watching dramas, and being outdoors in nature.
