Tonya is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, with over 18 years of experience. She has a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo. Tonya is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Tonya supports students (ages 12+), individuals, relationships, and families. Tonya began her career in social work supporting unhoused youth at Argus Residence for Young People. This foundational experience has Tonya committed to continuing her work in this area. Tonya's experience also includes working in child welfare, where children and families were supported through a trauma and attachment lens. While working in family violence, and supporting high-conflict dynamics, Tonya developed the skills needed to assist families involved in family court, parent and child conflicts, and support families navigating challenging transitions. Tonya concluded her work in the public sector as a School Social Worker.
Tonya enjoyed working closely with School Administrators to support students struggling with mental health and connecting families to community resources. Crisis intervention, mental health assessments, and safety planning for student safety were prioritized. Providing training for board staff on various mental health areas, including providing Living Works suicide prevention training to board employees was an area of special importance to Tonya.
Tonya supports clients using various therapeutic modalities such as; ACT, SF, Gottman Relationship Therapy, Polyvagal, and Trauma and Attachment-Informed Therapy. Integrating CBT and DBT are also core parts of her work. Additionally, Tonya is a trained Sex Therapist through the University of Guelph. Tonya has over 15 years of experience supervising BSW and MSW students, which supports her commitment to lifelong learning, in particular the benefits of bidirectional learning in the field of social work.
Tonya offers appointments during the day and evening. When not at Clarity, Tonya loves spending time with her family and four dogs. She is a certified personal trainer and uses her experience to highlight the importance of physical and mental health to overall well-being.

With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science in Population Medicine from the University of Guelph, she understands the interconnected nature of health and wellness through mind, body, and spirit. Jessie supports students (16+) and adults. Jessie began her career in social work by volunteering at a soup kitchen. Here, Jessie provided support to vulnerable individuals and learned the complexities and mental health impact of being unhoused and displaced. Jessie's commitment to volunteering in her community continued with her involvement in a mentorship program for youth and as a member on the Board of Directors for a local community centre.
Jessie's professional experience includes working alongside families in child welfare, providing support to children and youth as an Adoption Worker and as Children and Youth Services Worker. In these roles, Jessie developed a deepened understanding of trauma and attachment and the impact on individuals and their mental health, and in their relationships with others. Jessie is currently a school social worker at WCDSB, where
she provides support to students, families and educators. Jessie enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, where a responsive collaborative approach takes place. Jessie is very familiar with the challenges facing school-aged children today, and the potential impact on families. In this role, Jessie provides mental health assessments, crisis intervention and safety planning along with providing referrals to community resources. Jessie infuses a number of therapeutic modalities that help to inform her work, including CBT, DBT, ACT and SF therapies. As part of Jessie’s commitment to increasing the conversation around suicide and suicide prevention, she is a trained Safe Talk facilitator. Jessie enjoys facilitating workshops for students, parents and board staff on a variety of mental health topics. Jessie has also co-developed and co-facilitated a number of groups for school-aged children using evidence-based practices and informed by mental health needs.
Jessie believes in ongoing learning and attending training regularly is an important part of her personal and professional growth.
